Real Estate

This degree in Real Estate offers you the chance to study across a wide range of disciplines and property sectors. Although the emphasis is on residential and commercial property, rural property is covered in all three years of the academic programme. It will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter general/mixed practice. The broad scope of the course will enable you to appeal to a wider spectrum of potential employers. You will gain an understanding of acquisition, sale, letting, development and management of property interests and investments, together with the relevant law and practice underpinning these disciplines. In addition to the core surveying skills of valuation, building construction, law and town and country planning, you will be introduced to the history and dating of vernacular architecture and the psychology of sales, letting and negotiation underpinning property deals. On completing the course, many of our graduates secure employment undertaking the two-year Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) to qualify as Chartered Surveyors. Our graduates go on to pursue career opportunities in valuation surveying, property investment and asset management, real estate: residential and commercial, real estate: planning and development to name but a few.
