Liberal Studies (History) with Integrated Foundation

History of the study of the human past: people, society, events and ideas. Learning from the past is integral to understanding where we are now and preparing for the future. In this major you will study different periods of time and different geographical and political areas. You will learn how to evaluate historical evidence, to reach your own interpretation of it and to present your conclusions. Studying history at Regent's means that the whole of London is your classroom. With 2,000 years to explore, this history may be discovered in the documents of the city's archives and in its historic buildings and landscape. This is a discipline that encourages understanding of different societies and cultures, and you will therefore also study another language to intermediate level. In your foundation year you undertake a general education programme which provides a comprehensive foundation for your degree studies. From the first year of your degree, you choose a ‘major’ subject area whilst taking a range of ‘electives’ to tailor your degree to match your passions and interests. Every module in our liberal studies programme has been specifically designed for the degree, delivering you a broad-based education which engages you in critical and interdisciplinary thinking. Liberal arts graduates are well-prepared to make the most of opportunities in a fast-moving global economy. January start date - apply on our website. September start date - apply through UCAS.
