Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications with Industrial Experience

This programme covers the most rapidly growing areas of electronic engineering and all aspects of communications. You will learn about physical layer microwave and optical systems, as well as the design, operation and management of the large-scale, all-IP packet communications networks that form the technological core of the internet, transporting computer data as well as voice and video. A range of technical and business modules provides a strong engineering foundation to this specialised degree. The MEng follows the same structure as the BEng, with an additional year of specialisation in advanced topics. This sandwich degree combines academic study with a one-year industrial placement between your second and third years of study. Taking the Industrial Experience option as part of your degree gives you a route to develop real-world, practical problem solving skills in a professional context. This can give you an important edge in the graduate job market. As a leading research School, we have excellent links with industry. We also employ dedicated staff to help you arrange your year in industry. We will provide you with additional training and support in developing professional skills such as interview techniques and CV writing to help you secure a good position.
