This cutting edge Sound for Games & Apps degree course is for anyone determined to break into the games industry as a sound specialist. It will give you the skills you need to work in areas such as sound design, audio asset management, procedural audio and linear / non-linear composition. The course is delivered by dBs Music who provide a practical and creative-based degree course located in professionally specified high-end studio facilities. The course is validated by Plymouth Marjon University. Students will develop a combination of solid theoretical and practical knowledge and good insight surrounding technical, structural and strategic roles in Audio Design within Games and Apps. From studio, audio and music production fundamentals through to complex implementation and integration techniques, students develop diverse complex interactive immersive audio projects which set them up for this emerging creative arena. This programme also encapsulates the latest technologies in procedural audio, 2d-3d surround sound, ambisonics VR/AR and mixed reality projects to create fully immersive audio experiences. Based at dBs Music’s new media facility in the heart of Bristol, boasting 11 world-class studios with API 1608 and SSL mixing desks, 5.1 dedicated studio with PMC monitors. 5.1 Lecture theatre/gaming room. Plus a vast array of microphones including ambisonic and holophone, portable recorders and dedicated Foley Room. Full VR/ AR Devices and setups available for study, research and play including Oculus and iOs products. Powered by Alienware Windows machines and Mac suites.
