Joint Honours degrees give you the maximum flexibility to study subject areas that really interest you. You can shape your study according to your strengths, interests and career ambitions. GERMAN at NTU is offered as a post A-level subject. Our German course covers language and life in Germany as well as exploring the implications of history, society and politics. You'll examine a range of contemporary German Film and Literature. SPANISH at NTU has been created to ensure that you gain a quick learning of the language and an in-depth understanding of the societies and cultures in which it's spoken. NTU’s Spanish courses are in the UK’s Top 20 for student satisfaction (NSS 2017). You’ll have an exciting option to either work or study in Spain or South America during your third year to practically apply your learning and gain independence. Much of the teaching for this joint honours degree will take place by using the latest language-teaching methodologies and CALL technologies. This course will help you to gain impressive communicative skills whilst developing your accuracy and fluency within both modern languages.German at NTU is offered as a post A-level subject, you'll focus heavily on the German language, life in Germany and the history of the country. It will ensure that you quickly learn the language through language classes before delving into an in-depth understanding of the cultures and societies in which it is spoken. In Year Three you can spend time working or studying in Germany or Austria. Our partner universities are found in Bremen, Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Paderborn, Potsdam and Innsbruck. You'll be taught through the use of lectures, seminars and the latest methodologies and CALL technologies. You'll gain impressive communicative skills, develop your accuracy and fluency. Spanish at NTU has been created to ensure that you gain a quick learning of the language and an in-depth understanding of the societies and cultures in which it's spoken. You can study the language at beginner or GCSE level, so you won’t need any prior knowledge of the Spanish language. The course will educate you on contemporary Spanish and Latin American culture, politics and society. You’ll also have an exciting option to either work or study in Spain or South America during your third year to practically apply your learning and gain an independence in a foreign country. NTU has a 90% student satisfaction rate for Iberian Studies (NSS 2017). This joint honours degree will prepare you for a range of national and international careers. You’ll develop a great understanding of the languages and enhance your accuracy and fluency skills within both languages. This joint honours degree will also provide you with an academic background of both languages by focusing on the politics, society and history of the countries. Your cultural understanding of both foreign languages can support you with many careers such as trade, business and marketing. Being able to speak and write in German and Italian will help you in your future career where you may need to build solid relationships with many foreign partners and be able to meet foreign clients' needs whilst gaining negotiation and influential tactics. Our recent graduates have taken on roles within the United Nations, various international charities and UK government departments. Language graduates are in a great demand for a variety of occupations such as, the media, industry and education. 90% of our Spanish joint honours undergraduates are in work or further study within just six months of finishing their degree (DLHE 2015-16).
