Joint Honours degrees offer you the maximum flexibility to study subject areas that genuinely interest you. You’ll be able to shape your study according to your strengths, interests and career ambitions. GERMAN at NTU is offered as a post A-level subject. Our German course covers language and life in Germany as well as exploring the implications of history, society and politics. You'll examine a range of contemporary German Film and Literature. INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS will provide you with many theories of how to make informed choices that have an impact on a local, national and international level. You'll comprehend the significance of many of the big issues within international politics and look at the relationships between different cultural and religious communities. German at NTU has been created to ensure that you quickly learn the language through Language classes before delving into an in-depth understanding of the cultures and societies in which it is spoken. In Year Three you can spend time working or studying in Germany or Austria. Our partner universities are found in Bremen, Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Paderborn, Potsdam and Innsbruck. This course will help you to gain impressive communicative skills whilst developing your accuracy and fluency. Our International Relations course aims to examine the changing world in which we live in, international politics and will help you to make informed choices. You'll investigate the relationship between states, peoples, social movements, cultural and religious communities as well as researching political violence and peace. You'll need to have a genuine interest in international relations as the course will require you to analyse complex and challenging situations. This course will help you develop a greater awareness of the complexity and connectedness of the processes that shape our worlds. This joint honours degree will prepare you for a selection of national and international careers. The cultural communication skills that you'll acquire from this course include, self-reliance, confidence and excellent communication skills both written and verbal. This will put you at an advantage for the many jobs which are available in both private and public sectors in the UK. International Relations will educate you on how to identify key issues within international politics and how to make informed choices that will have an impact at local, national and international levels. Being able to speak a modern language like German shows employers that you are mature, confident and that you can join numerous global markets.
