French and Spanish (4 years) - Nottingham Trent University

FRENCH at NTU has been created to ensure a quick learning progress of the French language and an in-depth understanding of the societies and cultures in which it is spoken. You'll also be offered an exciting option to either work or study in France during your third year. This course will help you gain impressive communicative skills, as well as developing your accuracy and fluency. You'll also be able to take a final year module that develops translation and interpreting skills, which you'll be able to utilise in your future career. Our Modern Languages and Linguistics courses are ranked Top 20 in the Guardian University League Tables 2020. SPANISH at NTU has been created to ensure that you gain a quick learning of the language and an in-depth understanding of the societies and cultures in which it's spoken. It is in the UK's Top 20 for student satisfaction (NSS 2019). You’ll also have an exciting option to either work or study in Spain or South America during your third year to practically apply your learning and gain independence. Much of the teaching for this joint honours degree will take place by using the latest language-teaching methodologies and CALL technologies. You can study the language at beginner or GCSE level, so you won’t need any prior knowledge of the Spanish language. The course will educate you on contemporary Spanish and Latin American culture, politics and society. You’ll also have an exciting option to either work or study in Spain or South America during your third year to practically apply your learning and gain an independence in a foreign country. French at NTU is offered as a post A-level subject as it explores the French language, country and culture through many lively options. The course has been created to ensure a quick learning progress of the French language and an in-depth understanding of the societies and cultures in which it is spoken. You'll quickly enhance your language skills through the use of French language classes which will explore areas of French culture, society and politics. Much of the teaching for this joint honours degree will take place by using the latest language-teaching methodologies and CALL technologies. This course will help you to gain impressive communicative expertise whilst developing your accuracy and fluency within both modern languages which will support you with many potential careers in the UK or overseas. This joint honours degree will prepare you for a range of national and international careers. You'll gain a critical understanding of French and Spanish culture, society, and politics. You'll progress within the written and verbal communication of the languages and gain valuable translation skills. Modern languages will improve your chances of employability within the UK and abroad as language students are highly sought after by today's leading employers for a selection of roles varying from tour guides to working for the United Nations. Our recent graduates have taken on roles with various international charities and UK government departments.
