Our exciting and dynamic Fashion Management course focuses on the management of the entire fashion chain, from design development and product sourcing, to manufacture, sales and marketing, and to the end consumer. You'll analyse the challenging environment which the fashion industry faces daily on a global scale and gain a comprehensive understanding of fashion commerce. This course is perfect for students who wish to pursue a career in the fashion industry and who want to learn about the diversity of the industry on a global scale. You’ll learn about all the processes and elements of the fashion industry needed to inform and shape commercial management decision-making. You'll develop a dynamic interest in fashion products, theoretical knowledge, commercial awareness and learn how management strategies are created. If you’re looking to combine your interest in fashion products with a business management aspect then this course is ideal for you. NTU has impressive links with international fashion and textiles networks. You’ll be equipped with the right tools to pursue a career within the global fashion sector, which includes: design development, management and communication. You’ll be taught how to work on live briefs set by industry experts such as John Lewis and Jaeger. You’ll learn from professionals who will come in as guest speakers to teach you about multi-channelling retailing and product development and you’ll visit a range of trade fairs and companies to practically apply your learning and to gain industry practice. NTU are proactive with helping you to gain employability after graduating so you will be encouraged to undertake work experience to gain addition workplace expertise. Recent placements include ASOS, Boohoo, River Island and Tommy Hilfiger. From this, you’ll gain an extra qualification in either a certificate or diploma in professional practice. This course is assessed through a mixture of exams and coursework and you’ll be taught in a range of ways including lectures, teamwork and workshops. You’ll gain invaluable expertise such as: working on live briefs set by our industry experts like John Lewis, Next and Jaeger; You’ll get hands on experience by visiting professionals from companies such as The Trend Boutique; you’ll get to apply for international exchanges in well-renowned fashion organisations such as the Institute of Technology in New York; and exhibit your work at NTU’s Degree Show and gain travel, independence and develop an understanding of cultural fashion by going on optional trips to fashion capitals such as New York, Paris and Florence. Our recent graduates have pursued careers as: buyer’s administrative assistant at ASOS, buying assistant at House of Fraser; graduate research executive at Next; press assistant at Ted Baker; marketing assistant at Topshop and product developer at Timberland. The course will provide you with a breadth of important skills such as: how to research, critically analyse and how to present findings in relation to fashion management.
