Fashion and Textiles at NTU is ranked 5th in the UK in the university subject tables (2017 The Guardian University League Table). You'll develop your professional skills through live projects and competitions, using our industry-standard facilities. You’ll be offered unique and exciting international exchanges at places like the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and benefit from visiting professionals form the industry, such as internationally renowned fashion designers Giles Deacon, Shingo Sato and Christopher Raeburn. You'll have the chance to attend overseas trips to major events like Paris Fashion Week and enter competitions across the globe. In your final year you’ll present your work as part of a catwalk show or product exhibition. You may then be selected to showcase your work at Graduate Fashion Week in London which could lead to securing innovative roles within some of the biggest fashion companies based in the UK and overseas. This course is 100% assessed on coursework. You’ll be taught through a range of lectures, briefings, studio workshops and study visits. You’ll be encouraged to pursue a range of work placements throughout your study to gain new skills to help you transition into the world of work and to mould your professional practice. This course has an excellent graduate employment rate, with 94% of graduates in employment or further study within six months (DLHE survey 2015-16). The course strives to enhance your employability through offering plenty of opportunities to enter live projects and competitions with companies like GAP, ASOS and Abercrombie & Fitch. Many of our graduates have pursued careers in design, production and buying roles. Others are working for big fashion companies such as Victoria Beckham, All Saints, H&M, Burberry, Topshop and Nike.
