Economics with Business - Nottingham Trent University

Improve your knowledge of global markets and economic theory, and sharpen your decision making skills. An Economics degree at NTU is your gateway to a career in financial services and a wide range of sectors. You will focus on applied Economics, training you to be an economist from day one. You will gain a solid grounding in the main elements of economic analysis, while learning about its application to public and private organisations. You will make sense of a range of important issues affecting our everyday lives and improve your decision-making skills in ways that are relevant to the discipline of Economics. Our Economics and Business course provides a solid grounding in the threshold concepts underpinning economic analysis, using its distinctive perspectives to critically analyse business decision-making. You will learn about the industry and regulatory context surrounding decisions in an international setting as well as develop crucial employment skills. This course aims to produce graduates who can disseminate these concepts, influencing positively, debates and decisions taken by a myriad of individuals and groups in society. All routes are built on a common first year of study, during which you will develop a strong understanding of key areas within Economics. After this you will study a series of specialist modules which will relate specifically to the route you have chosen. Nottingham Business School at NTU is EQUIS and AACSB accredited, ranked 13th in the UK for Economics according to the Guardian league table 2019 and 27th / 78 in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019.
