Business Economics

Business Economics is a social science which does far more than understand how economic agents interact to form an economy and the production, distribution and consumption of wealth. Economics contributes to the debates around global issues such as why rich countries are rich and poor countries are poor and climate change down to household issues such as why it is difficult to buy a good second-hand car. Economic theory is also used to understand and predict behaviour; game theory has been used to explain decision making by politicians facing a nuclear stand-off and by a rock band when demanding a bowl of M&Ms with all the brown ones removed. It is an excellent subject for people interested in why things happen.
