Sociology with Criminology

Overview Our specialist degree explores the changing structures of society through a sociological lens and examines how and why crimes are committed. Crime and criminal justice are central issues in modern society and our specialist degree enables you to understand them from a sociological perspective. You will explore the use of sociological and criminological thinking on everyday life events, beginning with the principal founders of the discipline: Marx, Weber, and Durkheim. The specialist criminology modules allow you to examine areas such as crime and criminality; and media, crime and cultural practices.
