The Foundation Year provides a route onto BA (Hons) Events Management if you don’t have the qualifications, or have not studied advanced level subjects sufficiently related to your course of choice, but have the ability to study a degree. You apply for a 4 year full time or 5 year sandwich degree, including the Foundation Year. The growth of events in the tourism, hospitality and business sectors has led to a demand for graduates with practical know-how and business skills. This course aims to produce graduates with creative and strategic minds equipped to organise a wide variety of events, the first step in becoming an event professional. Whilst developing a broad knowledge of the industry, you will also be able to specialise in specific event sectors via our elective unit system. All of our units have been written in partnership with the events industry and our event partners, ensuring that they are on-trend. Throughout the course there will be opportunities to complete a range of additional industry short courses, volunteer at numerous events and work on live events projects. Manchester, as an internationally renowned events destination is ideally located for studying events management. Being in the heart of the city provides you with access to many major music, food and drink, sporting and cultural events and a multitude of conferencing venues, all year round. We also offer a four-year placement route where you have the opportunity to spend your third year on placement in industry. Our BA (Hons) Events Management course at the Manchester campus is accredited by the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers.
