Business Management with Law (with Overseas Study)

This is a four year degree that includes a year of study abroad, also referred to as ‘Exchange’. You will usually go on an exchange on your third year of study, so you’ll begin planning and applying for your exchange in your first and second year. Study abroad (exchange) opportunities exist throughout Europe, through the Erasmus+ programme. We also offer global exchange opportunities in the USA, Asia and Australasia. We are constantly growing our international exchange partnerships and have long-standing relationships with universities across the world who have welcomed our students as part of our exchange programme. A degree combining business with law offers a valuable opportunity to understand the legal structures within which businesses operate whilst gaining valuable business knowledge and skills. This business programme covers people management, finance, marketing, business environment, strategy, as well as business and company law. Whilst this is not a qualifying law degree it does give students a significant insight into law that helps these students differentiate themselves in a very competitive market place. It is suitable for individuals aiming for a career in Business but also offers an advantage to those students wanting management roles within the legal sector, where such knowledge would be highly valued.Teaching takes place at our award-winning Business School in Manchester city centre. There are opportunities to participate in business and enterprise competitions and receive support and advice from successful entrepreneurs and business consultants. You can choose to specialise in a particular business discipline in your final year, such as human resource management, entrepreneurship, marketing, legal studies or financial management. You will be supported by friendly and approachable staff. We take an innovative approach to teaching methods and use online resources, podcasting and video links. The Faculty of Business and Law hosts two Professional Development Weeks annually. Free and open to all students, this includes a festival of skills-development activities, practical support in developing your CV and employability skills, and the opportunity to network with actively recruiting graduate employers. We are a double-accredited business school, having gained the prestigious AACSB accreditation to provide excellence in global management education. This places us among the top 5% of business schools worldwide to have secured this accreditation and means your degree is internationally recognised.
