The study of history is not just concerned with writing narratives about the past, but also with interpreting the past. It will provide you with a roadmap by which to explore the social and political landscape of human consciousness throughout time and place. You will discover how people lived, what they did, and what they thought of the world around them. By analysing past events you may encounter war, technological and medical advancement, famine, poverty, victory and defeat, social injustice, new frontiers, slavery, invasions, conspiracies, catastrophes and revolutions. Researchers in the field continue to search for and uncover, previously unknown aspects of our history and identity. We will equip you with the skills required to do the same. * This course is undergoing a review over the next year which may mean a change to the course title and units of study.
