This course equips you with a thorough and practical knowledge of the economic, social and technological aspects of the main modes of transport, so that you will be able to play a full part in their future development. The course covers the principles of managing the human and technical resources required in operating transport systems and the importance of transport in relation to the economy and society. This is examined in terms of the numerous benefits and costs of transport in general and of the relative merits of the different methods of moving passengers and freight. The course is multidisciplinary, embracing the fundamental principles and applications of planning, management, economics and technology.
