Our unique Material and Visual Culture BA undergraduate degree course combines the study, practice and curation of design, craft, art and applied arts. You’ll learn about the production, consumption and distribution of everyday objects. We’ll explore the changing use of these objects from their original owners to collectors, cultural institutions and histories of design. Objects studied will include souvenirs, record collections, clothing, domestic products and family photographs as well other familiar products of our society. The Cass staff, visiting speakers, industry practitioners, curators and archivists will guide and assist you throughout the course. Work-based learning opportunities will also help you develop experience and skills in related sectors.
