Journalism

Get your reporting career off to a flying start by studying with Lambeth College’s award-winning journalism department. Previous students have gone on to work for national newspapers, magazines and broadcasters and win prestigious journalism awards. Lambeth College, based in Clapham, south London, has attracted the cream of journalistic talent for the last 15 years. It is also the pilot centre for the National College for the Training of Journalist’s (NCTJ's) ground-breaking apprenticeship in journalism, working with BBC Radio 4, the Independent/Evening Standard, The Telegraph, Sky, the regional press, Haymarket and the Mark Allen group. Your lecturers are journalists with many years of experience working in the regional and national press. Guest speakers are renowned in the industry or have regular contact with journalists. They have included columnist Toby Young, Green party leader Natalie Bennett, Streatham MP Chuka Ummuna, Piers Morgan, The Telegraph’s deputy digital editor Matthew Bayley and Buzzfeed’s Hussein Kesvani. Lambeth College has helped 100% of students gain work experience with a range of media companies. In the second year, you will undertake a work placement of your choice to build your portfolio. Previous Lambeth College students have gained employment at The Guardian, Independent, Telegraph, Sky Sports News, regional press titles, Huffington Post and Buzzfeed.
