Events Management Extended Degree

If you're interested in events management and the cultural and creative industries, this extended degree prepares you for a successful career. Whether you want to manage festivals or plan corporate events, this course provides the skills, knowledge and practical experience you need. This four-year course includes a foundation year (Year 0), providing an alternative route into higher education if you don't have the traditional qualifications or can't meet the entry requirements for an undergraduate degree. The Level 3 (foundation) year of this Events Management Extended Degree is taught at London Metropolitan University's Moorgate campus by staff from City and Islington College, and is designed to provide you with a grounding in academic study related to events management, enabling you to progress to Levels 4, 5 and 6 of the Events Management BA (Hons) degree at London Metropolitan University. All teaching will be held at London Metropolitan University. Year 0 will be delivered City and Islington staff and your subsequent years will be delivered by teaching staff from London Met. Combining creativity with business management and academic skills, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in a range of practical event projects and study the law, project management, marketing and finance from an event management perspective. In addition to the specifics of the subject, you'll also be equipped with business management skills relating to leadership, strategic planning and innovation. We work closely with many industry partners including the Association of Event Management Educators and the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers. You'll regularly come into contact with key figures in the events industry who give guest lectures and are actively involved in your development as mentors and recruiters. Many employ interns and new graduates from our course. If you have an interest in events management and the cultural and creative industries, this extended degree will develop your talents within a business and management framework, preparing you for a successful career. Our graduates have gone on to work in all sectors of the events industry including major corporates such as Diageo, marketing agencies like George P Johnson Experience Marketing, exhibition companies such as Upper Street Events and music festival organisers like Festival Republic.
