This course will give you a solid grounding in how mathematics, statistics and data science, supported by IT solutions, are applied to the analysis of big data encountered in industry, business and research organisations. These studies will build a solid foundation in quantitative methods and data science, combined with an understanding of how to develop software and use mathematical and statistical applications. In the final year, you will have a chance to specialise in areas like multivariate analysis and data mining, advanced and distributed databases and advanced analytics. This degree has a very high academic and professional standing and the Applied Mathematics Department has been formally recognised for its high quality teaching, excellent resources and dedicated staff.
