We aim to develop creatives with highly developed visual and perceptive skills complemented with a clear understanding of design thinking. The generation of new ideas and experimentation with media and materials is actively encouraged from the first year of study and the programme provides exciting opportunities for students to gain a deep understanding of new technologies and their application. The degree seeks to create a balanced curriculum of practice, theory and professional development enabling our graduates to compete on practical and intellectual levels across the broad spectrum of employment within the creative industries. With large, spacious studios in a beautiful listed building in the centre of Liverpool our students can also benefit from our inspirational partnerships with FACT, the Tate Gallery and National Museums Liverpool and the opportunities provided by overseas residential visits such as the Tech Shop collaboration with the University of Lille, France. The programme aims for autonomous engagement and professional practice within the related contemporary design industries and offers the possibilities of a diverse range of career choices or entry into postgraduate study.
