Fashion and Textiles - Lincoln College

*Subject to validation Fashion starts with textiles, and on this course you will learn how to develop and use a range of textile applications to enrich your fashion design work and garment creations. BA (Hons) Fashion and Textiles will teach you about fashion and textile design; from designing through to creating. You will explore the use of textiles within fashion learning and experimenting with techniques and processes such as print, hand stitch, manipulation and deconstruction of fabrics, patchwork and other forms of embellishment. Using the traditional craftsmanship of pattern cutting and garment construction you will also develop skills in translating design ideas in to innovative fashion outcomes. You will be taught how to present your work professionally; learning how to create and develop a portfolio that represents you and your personal practice. You will be introduced to presentation techniques and explore how to generate an online presence to showcase your work. A combination of in-house and live project briefs, throughout this highly practical course, will work towards preparing you to work creatively and effectively in the diverse industry of fashion.
