On the BMus (Hons) in Popular Music Performance we see no boundaries between performance, production and composition; our approach is rigorous and dedicated to developing the artistic vision of specialist music students as working, practical musicians. The course is about developing complete, creative and versatile musicians, ready to build and sustain a career in the contemporary music industry. The course is delivered in bespoke, state-of-the-art facilities, within an inspirational and thriving creative environment. Each year, we recruit a select cohort of student musicians to the following principal studies: Vocals, Piano/Keyboard, Guitar, Bass Guitar and Drum Kit. On graduation, successful BMus (Hons) Popular Music Performance students will have the choice of a wide range of career options. The BMus (Hons) Popular Music Performance is designed for instrumentalists and vocalists who wish to further develop their musicianship, performance, production and technical skills to a professional level within a highly specialist creative environment. This exceptional course provides advanced training for musicians with a high level of performing ability, preparing them to excel and work in the contemporary music industries. Our BMus (Hons) offers unrivalled opportunities to imaginative and curious musicians. Working on the same campus you will be part of a vibrant artistic community and have a real and unique opportunity to experiment and collaborate musically with specialist fine artists, photographers, fashion designers, animators, filmmakers, graphic designers and creative advertisers. Our course acknowledges that the boundaries between performance, composition and production are blurred. These are integral to our approach whilst providing you with a clear understanding of the business of music and the structure of the music industries. Our experienced tutors and visiting industry professionals will support and stimulate the development of technical skills necessary to thrive as a working, creative musician in the 21st century creative world. You will have access to bespoke facilities which include on-site, self-contained, industry standard rehearsal, recording and performance facilities, purpose-built and dedicated to teaching and learning on the degree. Facilities includes: -Dedicated 24-track analogue/digital recording studio with ProTools integration and motorised Solid State Logic AWS924 desk -Fully-integrated studio live/ensemble rooms -Specially-designed auditorium with full live PA, lighting rig and video integration -Sound-proofed instrumental teaching rooms -State-of-the-art specialist Mac suite -Backline, microphones and effects processors
