Criminology draws on a range of different perspectives, for example history, economics, statistics, sociology, social theory, socio-legal studies and psychology. This diverse base is reflected in the courses offered in the Lancaster degree programme. We are committed to fostering of critical perspectives within Criminology. We provide students with the knowledge to critically analyse official and “common-sense” notions of what does and what should constitute crime, deviance and control.
