You’ll graduate ready to enter the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register as a qualified midwife. It is taught across St George's, University of London and the Kingston Hill campuses. You’ll gain the scientific knowledge and practical skills to give care and advice to women and their families throughout pregnancy and the transition to parenthood. Studies in anatomy will include learning with dissected cadaveric material (real bodies generously donated to science). This unique learning opportunity makes up 10 per cent of first year teaching. Placements will be in maternity units in hospital and community settings in South West London and Surrey. You’ll need good interpersonal skills and empathy. **Our 2020 curriculum is currently being revised in line with the new NMC standards.**
