History

**Why choose this course?** In a rapidly changing world, from Brexit to Trump, our modern, globally-focused history degree enables you to explore how the past shapes the present. This research-led course ranges widely across world history, modern Britain and Europe. You will debate and investigate engaging historical themes, like slavery, gender, empire and Britain's relations with Europe. Student surveys show that 96 per cent of our students are satisfied with the course and 100 per cent are satisfied with the teaching. Kingston is a great location for history students. You'll have easy access to the UK's major historical research centre, the National Archives. Kingston is also home to historical landmarks such as Hampton Court Palace, Marble Hill House and the medieval Clattern Bridge. Our work experience module and digital history training will enhance your employability. In addition, our London location provides access to a wide range of historical resources and placement opportunities. For example, our students have gained work placements at the V&A Museum of Childhood, the National Theatre archive, Natural History Museum and Bishopsgate Institute.
