Computer Games Programming

The games industry is constantly evolving and has grown to surpass the size of the film industry. This course will teach you the specialist skills needed for this dynamic field together with the computer science which underpins it. These include games programming, artificial intelligence, graphics, game engines, mathematics and physics and classical computer science subjects. You'll learn the C++ and C# programming languages, use professional game engines such as Unity and Unreal and develop games for platforms such as PC, mobile, tablet as well as the Sony PlayStation 4. Most of the modules are taught in our dedicated games lab emulating a games studio environment. In the inKUbator, our games development studio, games developers, artists and designers come together to create commercially viable games. Guest lecturers and experts are regularly invited to speak in this creative space. In addition you will also have the opportunity to participate in Game Jams, where students work together in teams over a 24 hour period to create games and attend optional trips e.g. to PC Gamer Weekender
