Business Management and Economics

At Keele University, we’re different. Nestled in 600 acres of countryside in the heart of the UK, we have a big campus but a small and cosmopolitan community. We proudly rank 1st for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey for the last three years. This is because it’s more than green and lovely, it’s a place of research and academic excellence too. The Business Management and Economics programme engages with a range of subjects such as finance, law, politics and psychology to explore the theory and practice of business management and economics. You will learn techniques for addressing real world problems and policy-related issues and explore the behaviour of households, businesses and governments from a multidisciplinary perspective. You will also consider issues of social importance and examine real world phenomena, combining theoretical analysis with an up to date knowledge of current issues. With access to professional software tools such as Bloomberg to analyse and interpret real economic data, you will become confident in communicating complex business information to a range of audiences. To gain valuable practical experience in the application of your learning, you can choose to take a placement year between years two and three of your studies. Keele enjoys high rates of graduate employment, where in 2016, were recognised nationally as 1st for employability in the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey. By studying Management and Economics, you will open up a range of opportunities in business and government. You might choose to take up a career as an economist, perhaps in the City or with the Government Economic Service. Economists also work in commerce and industry in education or in local government. Your management skills could lead to a career as a manager in the commercial, public or charitable sectors or in marketing or sales. You might also choose to go on to study for a postgraduate degree in these subjects. *This course is subject to validation **Course Start Date:** Monday 24 September 2018 **Enrolment Date:** Saturday 22 September 2018
