At Keele University, we’re different. Nestled in 600 acres of countryside in the heart of the UK, we have a big campus but a small and cosmopolitan community. Keele proudly rank 1st for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey for the last three years. This is because it’s more than green and lovely, it’s a place of research and academic excellence too. Studying Accounting and Marketing at Keele University will develop your creative and communication skills alongside your understanding of accountancy practices and techniques. The course combines accounting theory and practice with learning about markets and consumers, their behaviours and how to understand and communicate with them. You will be supervised in the use of a range of professional tools such as Bloomberg and Sage in our dedicated computer laboratory to prepare, analyse and interpret accounting and market data. You will learn how to plan and implement successful marketing strategies as well as understand the financial implications of strategy. There are exciting opportunities to explore branding and digital marketing and develop awareness of alternative and not-for-profit organisations. You can choose to further enhance your experience of the practical application of your accounting and marketing knowledge by opting for a placement year between years two and three of your studies. In 2016, Keele University were recognised nationally as 1st for employability in the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey. Should you choose to follow a career in accounting, our programme offers a number of important exemptions from professional exams, as well as providing you with a solid grounding for business and management related careers. You might choose to employ your marketing skills in commerce or industry but many other organisations also employ marketing graduates such as the health service, local and central government, political parties, charities and educational institutions. You could also choose a career combining both your subjects working in marketing in an accountancy firm or as an accountant in a marketing company.
