You will gain practical knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) applications and will develop a detailed understanding of environmental planning legislation, waste/resource management issues and environmental management. Practical field skills are an important element of this course and you will benefit from a residential field course in the UK during your first and fourth year of study. Year two students will undertake a field expedition to a European location. Final year students will be given the opportunity to develop an independent research project on a geographical/environmental topic of their choice; they will also learn about specialist current topics such as sustainable energy.
