Why study food? Providing a growing population with safe, wholesome, nutritious and affordable food, while addressing environmental concerns and limited resources is high on the UK’s agenda. The food industry (and the supporting land-based sector) is constantly evolving to meet the expectations of the consumer. Increasingly, people are becoming better informed and more demanding about their food and its quality. However, right across the UK’s food industry, there is a shortage of suitably qualified and experienced graduates with a technical understanding of food.
