Game Art

Artists with the right skills and experience are much in demand by the games industry. Falmouth’s BA(Hons) Game Art course is designed to develop and enhance your ability to find employment as a game artist who is equipped with the latest knowledge and understanding of the methods and practices used within different art-based roles performed within the industry. Whether you want to be a concept artist, 3D modeller, environment or character game artist, this course will allow help you to build the skills and knowledge that you need to become an accomplished game artist who has a deep understanding of the place of art within context of game development. As well as developing your art skills, you’ll also contribute your own art to a game development team using an interdisciplinary approach that distinguishes Falmouth’s Games courses from the rest. You’ll gain exactly the type of experience needed for employment in the games industry as a game artist. The Game Art degree within the Games Academy allows you to build knowledge and expertise about the relationship of art to the commercial and design context of games. This knowledge and experience is complemented by the development of skills that build towards a specialist art role (concept, character or environment art). Most significantly you’ll work in groups to make complete games. This interdisciplinary approach is what makes this course unique to Falmouth
