Falmouth University

Woodlane, Falmouth, Cornwall, TR11 4RH, United Kingdom

English at Falmouth explores the power of literature to shape, reflect and challenge human experience in the 21st century. You will prioritise the evolving relationship between literature and the contemporary reader, interrogating what literature meant in the past, what is it now, and its role in the commercial world, from publishing to literary festivals. You’ll be taught by academics whose expertise encompasses 20th and 21st century literature, contemporary poetry, digital texts, gender studies, Victorian literature, the 18th century, ecocriticism, publishing and print culture. Unlike many English courses, our teaching is applied in contemporary terms, enabling you to gain live project exposure, to collaborate with select industry partners and to benefit from our high profile guest lecturers.
