Creative Writing

Creative Writing at Falmouth starts with you as a writer, creative producer and key member of our writers’ community at the School of Writing & Journalism. Here you can write beyond the conventional page, interrogate the latest fiction or screenplay for influences, explore audiences - whether virtual or real – and inform your own writing throughout. Supported by staff with significant professional expertise, you will hone your technical skills and investigate the ‘business’ of writing. The course allows you to develop your writing through practical workshops, professional feedback and peer critique. We appreciate the value of market knowledge, offering modules that delve into the ‘business’ of writing and the nuances presented by the 21st century marketplace. You’ll also benefit from the School of Writing & Journalism’s Visiting Lecture Series and Writers in Residence, who are often high profile authors and commentators who provide a rare opportunity for professional insight and never fail to inspire.
