Computing for Games

Get ready to shape the games of the future by acquiring the skills needed to create and drive computational technologies. You’ll join a course designed in collaboration with the industry and established to meet the technical needs of game developers. During your degree, you will become a competent game programmer with experience across a range of languages, including Python and C++, several game engines, including Unity and Unreal, and specialist areas including user interfaces, networking, graphics, and artificial intelligence. You’ll learn relevant topics and research methods in computer science and apply them practically as you make games, enabling you to explore novel and emerging technologies, such as procedural content generation, machine learning, and virtual reality. You’ll also collaborate extensively with students from Falmouth’s other games courses in multidisciplinary game development teams including programmers, artists, animators, game designers, sound designers and writers. And you’ll become familiar with industry-standard software development methods, such as Agile with Scrum, through studio practice.
