Photography and Video

Photography and video is a programme of still and moving image with sound that meets the exciting demands of a career in the arts and creative industries. Throughout the course you will build up a portfolio demonstrating your unique creative vision and your technical skills that will open up opportunities for a rewarding career. The first year includes modules in Photography, Moving Image, Contextual Studies and Digital Media. Visits to exhibitions and study trips in the UK and abroad allow you to develop your knowledge and passion for your subject. Work experience is embedded in the second year with a live external client brief. You will begin to develop a specialist area of study through creative practice-based projects, and develop your technical skills in a series of craft workshops, all supported by academic research. There will be the opportunity to meet guest lecturers from the creative industries and arts which will bring the commercial and artistic practice to life. In the third year create your own unique portfolio of work; show off your creative vision and talent. Develop your professional skills base and take the initiative to get involved in external exhibition.
