Law and Economics

The Law and Economics Joint Honours BA (Hons) at DMU will equip you with a broad knowledge of the main features, concepts and principles of the UK and EU legal systems, along with developing your understanding of the business environment and how economic policy is formulated in the context of contemporary economic events. A Joint Honours degree offers the opportunity to develop your knowledge base by studying two complementary subjects to a high level. You will develop practical skills that are in demand with employers such as mathematical and statistical analysis, problem solving and the ability to explain complex data in layman’s terms. You can benefit from a dedicated law environment including a mock court room, client interviewing room and an integrated law library. There are activities such as Law Clinic, the Careers Project, Street Law, mooting and client interviewing for you to take part in to, enhance your employability, ensuring you are well equipped for a range of career paths or further study. There will be opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular activities such as visits to the Supreme Court, giving talks about legal issues in schools and colleges, and social events including the Annual Law Society Ball.
