International Relations BA

The International Relations degree at DMU helps you to develop an in-depth understanding of the underlying forces that shape global decisions. At a time when the graduate employment market is very competitive, having a recognised competence in a foreign language can set you apart from most other graduates and enhance your career prospects. You will take a 30 credit beginners’ or post-GSCE module in your chosen language (which will equate to two hours of language classes) and one hour of cultural studies per week, learning about the country and its people. You will also have the opportunity to put your skills into practice by studying abroad between years two and three. You can study either: • International Relations with French (at beginners’ or post-GCSE level) OR • International Relations with Mandarin Chinese (at beginner level only), with the opportunity to experience Chinese life on campus at the Confucius Institute
