The Health Studies BA (Hons) degree is a well-established and dynamic social science course. Direct entry to level six offers suitably qualified students the opportunity to “top up” to degree level. The course provides an opportunity for students to understand and analyse contemporary developments in health and social care. Students investigate health as a human experience mediated by individual, social, economic, political and institutional factors. Alongside the exploration of a range of health related issues, students are also able to develop essential employability skills. This course gives you an academically and work-focused approach to understanding contemporary health and social care. 97 per cent of all Health and Life Sciences graduates are in employment or further study within six months of completing their course (DLHE 2014/15).
