Film Studies BA (Hons) at De Montfort University (DMU) combines the academic study of cinema with a focus on practical film-making skills. It gives you the opportunity to learn about the industry from gaining practical skills of making movies, learn about the latest developments in the world of cinema, to organising and promoting film events allowing you to pursue a variety of careers in the creative industries. We have a strong focus on employability, and The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016 has ranked our Media courses in the top 20 in the country for graduate prospects and 100 per cent of graduates from this course are in full-time employment or further education within six months of completing their course (DLHE 2014/15). Film Studies at De Montfort University scored 100 per cent for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2016. Film Studies at DMU can be taken either as a Single or Joint Honours course; the Joint option allows you to study another subjects alongside Film and expand your career prospects further.
