**This course was previously named Fashion Textiles and Accessories BA (Hons), however following a revalidation in July 2017, the course was renamed to Fashion Textile Design BA (Hons)** This is a creative and dynamic course, providing opportunities for students to develop in-depth textile design expertise for the fashion industry. Investigating and applying new creative directions for fashion forward, luxury and innovative design approaches for the material culture of fashion. • **Specialist practical course** developing your understanding of contemporary and innovative approaches to textiles and materials development for fashion. • **Fantastic facilities** including well-equipped workshops for print, knit, plastics, 3D and digital textile printing, metal, wood and leather. • **Hugely successful graduates** have gone on to postgraduate study here at DMU, and work at companies such as Vivienne Westwood, Ted Baker, and Jaguar Land Rover • **Professional practice** with portfolio skill support, CAD, digital promotion, CV writing and personal development planning. • **Strong fashion contextual knowledge** underpins the course by learning the fundamentals of pattern cutting, garment design, 3D prototyping and construction. • **International opportunity** through #DMUglobal where you will have the opportunity for a meaningful international experience • **The Vijay Patel building** has been designed to provide the space and facilities where ideas can develop and flourish for all of our art and design courses • **Core workshop materials available at no cost** to our students along with some programme-specific workshop materials • **Cash awards of £150, £200 and £300** for students in years one, two and three respectively, towards materials and specialist printing* *Awards are available to students undertaking full-time study and pro-rata for part-time students. Students on placement and therefore not incurring such costs are not eligible for financial assistance.
