Criminology

The Criminology BA (Hons) programme provides you with a broad understanding of the causes and responses to crime, while providing the opportunity to achieve a deeper understanding in a specialist area. You will develop transferable knowledge and skills that are directly applicable to the criminal justice sector and allied fields; enhancing your career opportunities upon graduation. You will also acquire an understanding of professional practice, risk management and policy developments across the sector. Teaching is delivered by academic staff working at the cutting edge of criminological research, keeping you up to date with contemporary issues and debates, while volunteering opportunities with local agencies will allow you to further develop your practical and professional skills. 97% of graduates seeking to enter employment or further study are successful within six months of graduating (Destination of Leavers from Higher Education 2014/15).
