Sport and Exercise Science

This is a hands-on course with a range of approaches to teaching including problem-based learning, case studies and laboratory classes. If you choose this course you may benefit from: •a course which is endorsed by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES); •a teaching team with links to various sports teams and organisations including Coventry City Football Club (CCFC) and Coerver Coaching, which allows you to put your knowledge into practice; •links with National Health Service (NHS) clinical services such as cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation and local authority healthy living initiatives, which increases your employment opportunities; •the opportunity to work with athletes or client groups through work experience modules and/or volunteering to become involved in a wide range of research and consultancy work undertaken by teaching staff and postgraduate students; •an annual coaching conference for third year students to present their work and develop conference-style communication skills valuable for both interview and industrial networking scenarios; •continuous opportunities for reflective practice in personal and professional development.
