Nutrition & Health

Nutrition is an expanding field that offers a wide range of career opportunities. This exciting course aims to enhance your understanding of the scientific basis of nutrition, with an emphasis on human health. If you choose this course you can benefit from: •an experienced and well qualified teaching team with a wide range of expertise and research interests; •the opportunity to apply for a work placement; •practical sessions in our purpose built kitchen; •lecturers with experience in areas such as food safety and public health to make sure you get up-to-date information and examples and to help you begin to establish your professional networks; •free access to specialist computer software for assessing the nutritional adequacy of dietary intake; •the opportunity to apply for registration as a Associate Nutritionist (ANutr) with the Association for Nutrition (AfN) by submitting a portfolio of evidence after graduation; •upon successful completion of the course, graduating as a qualified nutritionist. Note that from February 2016 a £200 registry fee applies to applications which would be payable directly to the AfN by applicants; please see the Association for Nutrition website for up-to-date information about fees.
