Mental Health Nursing

By choosing this course you will benefit from: a course that meets the professional outcomes identified by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), as essential prerequisites for registration as a Mental Health Nurse in the UK; a course that is split equally between academic theory and practice experience with the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust; the opportunity to find employment in a range of community and inpatient settings nationally, and also in specialist services working with a range of people across the lifespan; specific course newsletter, ‘closed’ Facebook group, film night and a series of summer educational visits allowing students to remain informed and help to develop applied knowledge, course identity and a sense of professional community; experienced teaching staff who bring considerable professional and research expertise to their teaching from all 4 fields of practice. The team includes research active authors, specialists and many with ongoing links with clinical practice; all adding to their authority to teach; well-established partnership with expert ‘service users’ involved in selection processes, teaching and assessment of students. Students engage with learning that integrates theory and practice, building cooperation and collaboration built on a firm foundation of communication to produce “Collaborative, Practice Ready” healthcare professionals.
