Just as printed newspapers, radio and television at one time changed the purpose and ways in which people engaged with news, so too digital, mobile and social media have transformed the way journalism is practised in modern society. Do you have a passion for writing, presenting or reporting and a nose for news? With the concept of fact-based storytelling at its heart, our BA Journalism degree aims to help our graduates operate across multiple platforms and be equally comfortable in a traditional journalism environment as they are working with disruptive forms of media practice. We focus on core news-gathering techniques and storytelling, at the same time providing opportunities to practice written and verbal communications that can be applied within broader communications contexts. In addition to working in traditional journalism formats, this course embraces technologies, including virtual reality, 360-degree video, social media platforms and live blogs.
