Business Administration - Coventry University

The course reflects business thought and practice with an emphasis, where appropriate, on the application of theory to real business situations, challenges and issues. Case studies will be used to give you an in-depth understanding of how the different parts of an organisation support one another. Previously, for example, students have considered the project management issues involved with festivals like Glastonbury, the ethical concerns in the supply chains of cut flowers and the challenges of managing mega-events, such as the Olympic Games.   Our aim is to provide you with a business degree qualification that equips you for careers in local, national or international markets, encouraging you to go beyond an understanding of management theories to also be able to apply them confidently to real life situations. We strive to create a study environment which will encourage you to build up your awareness of the dynamic business environment and how current events impact this with real life case studies and current events analysed in seminars and used to explore the challenges of putting theory into practice. In addition, our strong focus on providing opportunities for gaining work experience, supported by both our careers service and our Faculty Employability Tutors, helps you gain the skills, knowledge and networks that build the exceptional profile employers are attracted to. **Key Course Benefits;** - £350m investment in facilities, a single site campus with excellent learning facilities all in easy walking distance. - Provides a very relevant and natural progression path to study for an MBA in subsequent years following appropriate experience of work. - Regular input from industry and commerce with recent guest speakers from HSBC, Manchester Airport Group, NFU Mutual, TNT, Jaguar Land Rover and Severn Trent. - Placement opportunities to apply for with organisations that in the past have included Volvo, Bosch Group, Coventry City Council, Eon, Faurecia, National Grid and Barclays Bank. - Strong international focus with direct entry offered to international students in Years Two and Three, when appropriate prior learning can be evidenced, enabling you to study in a diverse and cosmopolitan environment, building networks across the globe. - Designated Employment Personal Tutor (EPT) to work with you throughout your course.
