Introduction to Health Sciences

This one-year full-time programme provides an introduction to clinical and professional healthcare, and offers an alternative entry route onto health-related BSc (Hons) courses at City, University of London. This course has been designed for students with an ambition to study healthcare at BSc level. You should have a passion for science and will enjoy a future working with the public and colleagues across the healthcare sector. This Foundation Year in Health Sciences programme will provide you with a thorough education in the core components required to study one of the following health-related BSc (Hons) programmes at City, University of London: • BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing • BSc (Hons) Child Nursing • BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing • BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care • BSc (Hons) Radiography (Radiotherapy and Oncology) • BSc (Hons) Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging) • BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Therapy • BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Science You will develop a range of key transferable skills needed to work effectively within the current and future health and social care environment. In addition, the programme will provide a supportive environment, which fosters academic and personal development and uses appropriate learning resources. The programme will enhance the development of your interpersonal skills and uses a variety of appropriate teaching and learning methods, to provide education and training that is relevant, intellectually challenging and enjoyable.
