This particular version of the degree allows you to spend your third year studying abroad before returning to Cardiff for a final year. The School of Mathematics has agreements with institutions across Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia, and you will have support to apply for your overseas year. The course provides a good grounding in general mathematical techniques as a foundation for understanding more specialised branches such as computing, numerical analysis, applied probability, statistics, operational research and applied mathematics.
