Creating Virtual and Augmented Reality - Cardiff Metropolitan University

This course is designed to equip graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to create new VR and AR applications and experiences. You will learn the Computer Science and Software Engineering skills needed to develop real-time applications and will gain experience of using different languages including Python and C/C++. The programme will look at real-time graphic techniques as well as programming spatial audio systems to create immersive experiences. It will also cover human computer interaction and how gestures can be used to create interactive experiences. You will also gain experience in software project management as well as the tools and techniques used to create your own VR and AR applications. The programme will be industry focussed offering opportunities for industrial placements and will be designed to allow accreditation of the programme by the British Compute Society. This programme is subject to validation for September 2020 entry and the information provided may be subject to change. All new programmes at the University must undergo validation, the purpose of which is to ensure that the proposed programme is aligned to the University's Mission and its content reflects appropriate levels of academic standards and quality.
